letters and flour

We have have a lot of work we need to do on are letters with Christian and Tylar, so I am always looking for fun ways to work on it. Over at Jennys she did it with sugar but I had a lot of flour so I did it with that. I put a little flour on a small plate for each child. Then, I showed them how to make letters in the flour and then shake the plate to erase them. The kid had a lot of fun!

If you have a fun way to work on letters let me know!

What fun! (and messy!)

We painted letters in the bath tub today. *with washable paint, of course!

We could do that thank you Jaimie!

That looks like a blast!! I am sure I can go through some of my things and come up with stuff, too. We do play-doh letters, we made "corn" out of popcorn, on a piece of paper, and practiced our "Cs" next to our corn... so it was a snack, ,craft, and learning thing, all in one! Ummm I'll see what else I have, too! :)

I use shaving cream in my classroom. The kids love it and your table gets really clean :)

How fun! I was too scared to use flour, you are brave! LOL!

Also, you asked about homeschooling. I love it! However, I have planned on homeschooling since before my daughter was born!

I really like the flexibility of it. Plus, she can learn at her own pace. School wastes so much of kid's time: waiting in line, waiting for everyone to quiet down, waiting for everyone to catch up, etc.

I also feel that 1 teacher can not effectively teach a classroom of 20-30 different children. Each has their own learning style and personality.

Wow! You are a braver woman that I. That would probably send me into convulsions. Perhaps I should loosen up a bit. ;)
Looks like fun!

I second the shaving cream, and we would add food coloring and a few drops of liquid soap (to get the color off of the fingers) and also the bathtub that was fun!

You can make letter with sugar cookies. My kids love doing that and then using the letters to make their names. Anything messy is always a big hit ;)
